We are committed to ensure that all residents and businesses in South Gloucestershire have the opportunity to gain the skills and confidence and access the technology they need to get online.
The internet and digital technology is increasingly becoming an essential part of everyday life.
In South Gloucestershire we are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to and can realise both the social and economic benefits of internet access and the technology that goes with it.
Our Go online project is all about ensuring that everyone in South Gloucestershire can access the internet (including where to get free internet access) and also to gain the skills and confidence to go online. It is also about helping and encouraging others to discover a new world online.
At present not all areas within South Gloucestershire have internet access via broadband and some areas experience slow speeds and poor service. We are working in partnership with British Telecom (BT) to ensure that by 2016, all premises within South Gloucestershire can access at least a standard broadband service, with 94% of premises able to access superfast broadband.
