Sheltered housing is accommodation for older people.

Sheltered housing is accommodation for older people (usually over 55). Schemes are located on small estates made up of bedsits, flats and bungalows. There is support available to help residents manage independently in their home.

If you are interested in renting a sheltered housing property managed by a Housing Association, you should registered with the Council's HomeChoice service.

Further information on accommodation for older people, including information on buying a retirement home, is available through Age UK.
