Patchway hub

Patchway hub

Patchway hub provides access to a range of health, children's, young people and family services under one roof.

The Patchway hub is located on the old Patchway library site and opened 5 September 2011. The hub is also the location for the North Bristol Trust (NBT) Children's Health team alongside the integrated children and young people's services.

Your new Patchway hub has been designed to bring together services for children, young people and their families in one location and in an accessible and welcoming environment. Existing referral arrangements will remain the same.
Services include:

  • Adult Learning Difficulties service
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health services
  • Community paediatricians
  • Educational psychologists
  • Educational welfare
  • Family support services
  • Health visiting service
  • Inclusion support workers
  • Midwifery service
  • Physiotherapy
  • School health nurses
  • Social care services
  • Speech and language therapists
  • Volunteer Centre - Patchway, Filton and the Stokes

Please note that some services will require referral to access

Your Patchway hub also incorporates a brand new library and council One Stop Shop. Hub staff will be on hand to help with advice and support such as where to find your nearest children centre or youth centre.

The new state of the art library incorporates a ‘volunteer bureau’ for use by local voluntary groups.  It will provide the full range of usual library services including:

  • materials for lending
  • information services
  • library computer network
  • ICT tutor sessions in libraries
  • letting of the space
  • photocopiers and fax services

A One Stop Shop is also incorporated within the building providing space for five customer service advisors, five interview rooms and its own waiting area.

A drop-in facility for adults with learning difficulties includes a public ‘Changing Places’ toilet for those people who cannot use standard accessible toilets.  This includes people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their carers, as well as many other disabled people who need sufficient space and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist.

The building supports the council’s accommodation strategy, promoting more effective use of the building by making it open plan, encouraging smarter working methods for all staff.  It employs low and zero carbon technologies where practical and economic including:

  • low energy and automatic lighting
  • a combined heat and power plant
  • photovoltaic cells for energy generation with the ability to sell spare electricity back to the national gri
  • low energy natural ventilation wherever possible
