* Please be aware that if you choose to pay by credit card for Council Tax, an additional charge of 1.8% will be applied to cover bank charges. There will be no charge for debit cards.
Cromhall Post Office
Cromhall Post Office is being redeveloped and is closed for about six months. A temporary Post Office has been set up in a portable building, outside Cromhall Chapel, about 170 metres from the original Post Office.
All payments except direct debit payments are due on your account by the 1st of each month. Therefore, it is important that you leave enough time for your payment to reach our account so that you do not fall into arrears.
When making a payment towards your council tax account, please remember to quote your 9 digit billing number which starts with a 4 and is shown on your bill.
Following a change in council tax legislation, with effect from 1 April 2013, council tax can be paid over 12 monthly instalments instead of the statutory 10 instalments. If you wish to pay by 12 instalments, please contact us in writing or by telephone.
Spread the cost of your council tax
If you would like to spread your council tax payments over 12 months, instead of the usual 10 instalments, you will need to tell us by 7 February 2014. Your payments will start in April 2014.

If you tell us after the 7 February we may be able to spread your payments over the remaining months left in the financial year.

Alternatively, you can call our contact centre on 01454 868003 to set up the direct debit over the telephone. When the direct debit has been set up on your account, a revised bill will be issued to you.
Using the Internet
You can pay using your debit card through our secure internet payment facility
. You will need to quote your 9 digit Billing reference number.
This method will normally take up to four working days to reach our bank account and you should make allowance for this to avoid falling into arrears. Please refer to your on-line bank for payment instructions. You will require the following:
