Many people living in South Gloucestershire work in Bristol and often have trouble driving there due to traffic jams. Park and ride services provide a good alternative to driving into a city and reduce congestion.
Existing schemes serving Bristol already carry 2.1m passengers per year.
The Local Transport Plan that we have developed with neighbouring local authorities proposes expanding and developing the park and ride system.
We are now developing plans for park and ride schemes at Yate/Nibley, Emersons Green and Stoke Gifford. Of these, the proposals for a site at Nibley are the most advanced.
