Licensing - paying for your licence

Modernisation

As part of our modernisation of payment facilities and improvement efficiencies we will take payments by cheque and by chip and pin but will no longer take cash payments for any of the licences, consents or registrations we administer. The card facility will offer two options; you will be able to pay in advance over the telephone or when you arrive for your appointment at the offices.

Help if you can currently only pay by cash.

If you do not have a bank account with the facility for cheques or a debit card with chip and pin the following information may help.

It is possible to obtain an account through the Bristol Credit Union at 112-114 Cheltenham Rd, Bristol BS6 5RW
Tel: 0117 924 7309
http://www.bristolcreditunion.org/

To open an account it takes 20 minutes to get a membership account and then a further 10 days for a current account. The application form and a check list of the required documents are attached.

Sessions are provided at Filton and Kingswood and the headquarters are on Cheltenham Road in Bristol.

A debit card is provided with a current account. Cheque books are not supplied but cheques can be sent out from the Credit Union. Electronic transfers are another option of payment.
