Food waste collections

food waste

We have introduced a testing phase for the weekly collection of food waste in South Gloucestershire, affecting approximately 15,000 households.

The results of the testing phase will help us identify any problems before the service is rolled out to the remainder of South Gloucestershire households.

Residents whose properties have been selected for the testing phase have already been notified that they will receive weekly food waste collections and advised of the action they need to take.

If you haven’t received an information pack then you are not part of the testing phase and your collections are not affected.

For households taking part in the testing phase, the introduction of food waste collections will not alter your collection days. All that will change is that your green wheeled bin will be emptied weekly.

To find out if your home is in the trial, please search our online database using your post code.

What you can expect

You will be prompted for your postcode. The system will then tell you if you are taking part in the food waste testing phase and the dates your waste will be collected on.
