Parkleaze Afternoon of Action
"I was introduced to Active for Life by going climbing at the University of the West of England with Brian Gardner. As well as climbing I have also been swimming, played badminton, went walking in the Mendips and the Brecon Beacons, and even got my grandma and her friends doing some exercise with the Active for Life team!
I then came up with an idea for a project in my local park in Parkleaze play area in Patchway. The project went very well with lots of sport and games with a local coach called Craig. We also went for a walk around the Tumps and the pond at Aztec West. We had lots of fun and had free fruit and water. It was a great day, great weather and lots of people came. I also signed up over 30 people for Active for Life and hope to get more soon! This is a great idea for young people in South Gloucestershire to help people in their community get a little more active.
