Dropped kerbs

If you want to install a dropped kerb so that you can drive across the pavement between your house and the road, you need to get permission from the council. We have to check that your proposals will not pose a risk to others.

Planning controls

You should also check with the Development Control Team to find out if your proposals need planning permission or Conservation Area/Listed Building Consent. What you can expect

You will be asked to send a cheque for £30 to Streetcare, whose address is above. This covers the cost of preparing a specification for the work, which we will then send you.
Once you receive the specification, you must carry out the works within 12 months. If you do not, you will need to pay for a revised specification. This is to make sure your proposed works do not conflict with any that the council is planning.
