Audio Walks for South Gloucestershire
As part of a wider Bristol project, South Gloucestershire Council Arts Development has commissioned Heads and Tales to create two audio stories which can be downloaded and played on MP3 players to accompany walks through local neighbourhoods. Listen to the stories and look at the area through new eyes.
Filton
Wartime Delivery by Lesley Ann Gittings
Set in the heart of Filton, home of Bristol Aeroplane Company, this
story is a day in the life of Ellen, the young wife of a RAF pilot.
The day is Sept 25th 1940 when German bombers mount a surprise daytime attack on the manufacturing sheds at the airfield. Over ninety people were killed.
Staple Hill
The Colour of Infinity by Pauline Masurel
Not everyone perceives the world in the same way. For countless
people everyday life is a colourless rush from one place to another.
Join a woman with a very different viewpoint and follow her on a walk through Staple Hill. Head into the stillness of a dark tunnel where a full spectrum of colour unfolds.
For information on all the stories and walks follow the Audio Walks link in the other websites section on the right of this page.
