Most applications require a full planning application. You can also submit an outline planning application to see if a development would be acceptable. Applications are also required for listed buildings, conservation areas, advertisments and for works to trees.
For further information please see our 'types of application' page. Guidance notes are also available in the 'Read more' section of this page.
As from 26 February 2008, South Gloucestershire Council will be introducing the national Standard Planning Application form (1APP) and the national and local planning application requirements. The new forms and requirements will provide a consistent format and a set of questions, helping to make the process of applying for planning permission more straight forward for applicants.
Although available in paper format, the new standard planning application form (1APP) will facilitate online submissions and will be used in conjunction with the Planning Portal online Application service. The intelligent nature of the electronic form will help you identify the correct planning consent required for your development and link to the associated mandatory and local Planning Application requirements.
You can apply on-line using the Planning Portal online application service through the link in the 'Other websites' section of this page.
Application forms are also available:
- To download (from the 1APP planning page)
- By calling our Customer Service Centre on 01454 868004
- From our one-stop shops
Before applying for planning permission or consent please ensure you have checked the associated fee, validation requirements (PAR checklist) and guidance for your proposal.
Advice on completing the forms is provided with the application forms.
