A cattle passport is a government-issued document which states an animal's: - Date of birth
- Official ear tag number
- Ear tag number of the dam
- Breed
- Sex
All cattle born after 1st July 1996 must have a passport. The passport stays with the animal throughout its life and includes all movements and changes of ownership.
