Ingredients
Wholemeal flour 2 oz
Margarine 2 oz
Demerara sugar 2½ oz
Apples (cooking) ½ medium
Eggs (beaten) 1small
Sultanas 1½oz
Baking powder pinch
Serves four persons.
Method
- Peel and grate the apples
- Cream together the margarine and ¾ of the sugar
- Beat in the eggs
- Fold in the sultanas, flour and baking powder
- Stir the grated apples into the mixture
- Spoon into a greased flat tin
- Mix together the remaining sugar and sprinkle over the
top - Bake at gas mark 4/350°F for 1½ hours
