Locality Youth Forums

Ethnically diverse group lying down with their heads together

Locality Youth Forums

A youth forum is a group where young people get together to make a difference and ....

  • to improve things for young people
  • do something about the issues that matter to them
  • get young people’s views heard

Youth forum’s get involved in loads of different things like ……….

  • Organising gigs and events for young people
  • Designing websites, posters and leaflets around bullying, alcohol & other issues
  • Telling the council & others what you think of their ideas for young people
  • Campaigning for cheaper transport & things to do
  • Advising how funding should be spent
  • Trips and weekends away

You don’t have to be super-confident, just have something to say, you will get support from the Youth Forum and workers. As part of a Youth Forum you will get to meet new people, have fun and do new things.

Not only do forums provide a means of young people having a 'voice' through them young people develop confidence and skills. They can also provide a safe supported space to build relationships with peers.

Youth Forums for 13 – 19 year olds are being created in South Gloucestershire so that young people can have more of say in what happens in their local area, if you’d like to get involved or find out more come to Fromeside Youth Centre on Wednesday 29th October 7 – 9pm.
