Week of action comes to Staple Hill

A variety of activities are taking place in Staple Hill between Tuesday 17 and  Friday 20 August to bring people together to focus on local issues and target crime and anti social behaviour.

South Gloucestershire Council and its partners will be out in the community listening to residents’ views and putting in extra resources to clean up the area over the week.

Highlights of the week include:
* Council officers and partner agencies will be in Broad Street on Thursday 19th to answer your questions and carry out face to face surveys

* A litter pick organised by the Staple Hill Safer and Stronger Community Group from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday 17th – volunteers are welcome to join this event, meet at Page Park main entrance. Equipment will be provided

* Police visits to vulnerable residents to give out advice on crime reduction

* A graffiti amnesty

Cllr Heather Goddard, executive member for communities, said: “Staple Hill is an active and vibrant community and we hope that this targeted action will result in longer term improvements to the area which will help to make the area an even safer and enjoyable place to live.”
