Sort It!* - promotion and publicity

Sort It!* - reduce, re-use, recycle

The partnership has adopted the Sort It!* logo and strap line for the integrated service.

Residents' newsletter

A residents' newsletter is sent to all households in South Gloucestershire three times a year, to help raise public awareness about recycling and composting and to inform them of achievements and new developments. Press releases are submitted regularly to the local media.

Waste services charter

This sets out the range of services provided through Sort It!* - the standard of service residents can expect and how to make a request or submit a complaint. The charter was reviewed during the summer of 2004 and the new charter was delivered to all households.

Education in schools

Education forms an important part of the service. The education officer works with all secondary schools and has a programme of working with 20 primary schools each year to promote waste reduction, recycling and composting. They have introduced paper recycling schemes to the schools and provide resources, teaching aids, assemblies and classwork about reducing, re-using and recycling (R3).
