It's very important to learn how to look after yourself and how to keep out of dangerous situations. It's very unlikely that anything serious will happen because violent crimes, especially involving strangers, are rare.
Figures show that: - A third of young people have had money, mobiles and bikes stolen
- One in ten young people have been injured in an assault
- One in ten young people have been threatened
- Boys are more likely to be affected
The good news is that there are many ways of protecting yourself and preventing it from happening.
