Smokefree South Gloucestershire

Smokefree branding

1 July 2007 brought the smokefree regulations into place and virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England are now smoke-free. This includes hotels, pubs, clubs, cafés, restaurants, offices, shops, factories and warehouses. In fact, all enclosed buildings where people work are now smoke-free. There are some exemptions including designated rooms in hotels, residential care homes and prisons.

One year on

One year on, the Department of Health is considering their next steps in protecting children and young people from the harmful effects of second-hand tobacco smoke. They would welcome comments from members of the public, and people can take part in an on-line consultation that runs until mid-September. View the Smokefree Action website under Other websites for more details.
