Yate hub is located within the new Community Health Building, Yate West Gate Centre in the centre of town. It is close to the Leisure Centre and shops, and to the planned new Yate Youth cafe. Yate West Gate Centre opened in February 2010 and is a joint venture between NHS South Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire Council. This is a unique facility providing access to a range of health, children's, young people and family services under one roof.
The Children and Young People's hub within the centre includes access to the Children and Young People Information Service providing the general public with information, signposting, advice, support and access to a range of services. Services include youth clinics, maternity services and access to health visitors. Children's Social Services and Connexions staff are also based at the hub and there is a Sure Start Children's Centre offering stay and play sessions. Health services include a minor injuries service, outpatient facilities, x-ray and ultrasound diagnostics, physiotherapy and audiology and West Walk GP practice. A Boots pharmacy is also available on site.
