  • No Worries! Young Peoples Clinics
  • No Worries! GPs
  • Sexual Health Clinics
  • NHS Walk-in Centres for some STIs

Bristol also has a specialist clinic for testing and treatment of STIs:

Milne Centre for Sexual Health (GUM Clinic)
Lower Maudlin Street
Bristol
Tel: 0117 342 6900
Web: www.uhbt.nhs.uk/milne

Although most infections have no symptoms, some do and warning signs might be:

  • Pain when urinating
  • Unusual discharge from your vagina or penis
  • Rashes or sores around your vagina or penis

If you have had sex, without a condom, and think you may have picked up a STI, it is important to get it treated even if you haven't had any symptoms.  STIs can damage your health and may affect your ability to have children in the future.  Most STIs are easily treated.

Chlamydia is the most common STI amongst young people under 25.  It is easy to check if you are infected or not.  Phone 0845 180 0050 to find out where to get a free confidential testing kit.
