If you have entered the UK and have made a claim for housing benefit, we will need to see the following evidence: - Passport
- Evidence of national insurance number or evidence to show that you have applied for one
- All documents from the home office to show immigration status, if you have been given recourse to public funds, your nationality and the date you entered the country
We will tell you if you will get housing benefit once we have received evidence from you and we are satisfied that you have leave to remain and recourse to public funds.
If you have entered the UK from one of the following countries and are currently doing your 12 month registered employment you need to provide your Workers Registration Card and Certificate. If you have already done your 12 months registered employment we need to see evidence of this.
The above will apply if you have entered the UK from:
- Czech Republic
- Estonia
- Hungary
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Poland
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
