The draft commissioning of places strategy 2009-14

Commissioning of Places Strategy 2009 - 2014 for the 0-19 age range

The Commissioning of Places Strategy puts the needs of children, young people and their families at the heart of the early years, school and college systems. The Strategy pulls together the information required to form a strategic view of the need for places across South Gloucestershire and provides a revised and updated policy framework for: considering statutory proposals, (opening, closing and defining the size of schools); implementing new school competition arrangements; establishing foundation and trust school models; supporting the development of academies, all through schools and collaborative and federated arrangements. It provides a summary analysis of how the LA intends to address gaps in pre-school provision and sets out the parameters for considering places for the 14-19 age group.  Please read full document in the 'Read more' section of this page.
