We collect household batteries as part of the kerbside recycling service.
We are providing residents with a small bag to store used household batteries until there are enough to be put out for collection. The bag should be filled, sealed and put in your green box. Batteries will be collected and taken to a recycling plant in the UK. Once the bag is collected a new one will be provided. You can also use your own bags provided they are transparent.
There are also collection points at all four Sort It!* Centres.
Larger batteries such as those from power tools and laptops will also be collected. Put these loose in your green box. We will also continue to collect old car batteries which should be left by the side of your recycling box.
