Preparing for evacuation

Rest Centre Staff

In some emergencies the safest course of action will be to evacuate residents from their homes until the danger has passed. The decision to evacuate is not made lightly and will be made upon the advice and expertise of the emergency services. In many cases the evacuation will only be temporary and residents will allowed home within a short space of time once the danger has subsided. In other cases the danger may be longer lasting or damage caused by the emergency, such as flooding, may prevent residents from returning home for some time.
