If you pay rent to a private landlord your benefit will be paid to you by a BACS payment, made directly into your bank account or directly to your landlord.
If benefit is paid to you it will be made every two weeks and paid in arrears. If benefit is paid directly to your landlord it will be paid every four weeks and in arrears. However, if you are more than eight weeks in arrears with your rent, we will pay your housing benefit directly to your landlord.
If you pay rent to the council we pay your benefit directly to your rent account.
