Walk of the month

Over the last 7 years we have discovered over 150 lovely walk routes across South Gloucestershire and as a result, are quite often asked for the map and instructions so people can walk them in their spare time. We would like to showcase some of our more popular routes by selecting one each month for you to explore on your own.

Wick Golden Valley

Wick is a lovely village situated on the A420 between Bristol and Bath. It is surrounded by particularly beautiful countryside, which includes the River Boyd, Freezing Hill and the Cotswold escarpment and the Golden Valley.

The Golden Valley is jam packed with points of industrial and wildlife interest, and as a result has been designated a Local Nature Reserve. For more information about the Golden Valley visit the link to the right of the page.

The Golden Valley will be particularly beautiful at this time of year. To explore the area by foot and discover a bit more about the history surrounding it, you can download the PDF of the Wick Golden Valley Heritage leaflet found on the right of this page.
