Replacement birth, death or marriage certificates are available from the area in which the event was registered. In South Gloucestershire, certificates are available from:

If you need a replacement certificate you should write to us enclosing:
- Full name of the person or people
- Date of the event
- Any further information you have to help us ensure we have located the correct entry - for example parents' names for a birth, details of father's names or occupation of bride or groom for marriages
- Cheque for £7.00 for a full certificate (£5.50 for a short birth certificate) made payable to South Gloucestershire Council (with cheque guarantee number and expiry date on back of cheque)
- Name and address of person to whom the certificate should be sent
- A stamped, self-addressed envelope for the return of the certificate
