There are six railway stations in South Gloucestershire, including one on a main line to London - Bristol Parkway. The council works to improve train services and facilities for passengers by: - Investing in local stations in partnership with rail companies and parish councils
- Improving interchange for passengers arriving on foot, by bicycle, and on buses
- Working with train operators, Network Rail, central government and other local authorities on long-term plans to improve rail services, reopen railway lines and build new stations
