Motorcyclists are more vulnerable than other road users, so it is essential to get proper training. We've listed the web addresses of a few organisations that offer courses and can provide you with more information.
If you are new to motorcycling, please visit the Driving Standards Agency website. This gives you full information about the legal requirements for riding motorbikes and tells you what you need to do to get started.
Once you have passed your compulsory basic training, you can take a further training course for scooter riders that we run. It is free and lasts for two days.
Free motorcycle coaching
The day will have an illustrated theory session in the morning followed by a three-hour ride out in the afternoon. There will be three riders on each day and they will each take a turn to lead the bunch and the ride will conclude with a constructive debrief from the instructor.
