Advice and signposting will be provided by our trained customer advisers, linked to the Children and Young People's Information Service who will:

  • Answer queries about how to use the information
  • Facilitate telephone and web links to additional or more specialist advice
  • Provide a link to other services in the locality to include:
      • Connexions
      • Council One Stop Shops
      • GP Surgeries
      • Health Centres
      • Health Visitors
      • Housing Services
      • Jobcentre Plus
      • Maternity Services
      • Schools
      • Sure Start Children's Centres
      • Voluntary Sector Services
      • Youth Centres
      • Youth Services

Where signposting or initial advice is not enough a member of the multi-agency duty service will meet with the parent/carer, child or young person to identify what is required.

To support this, the hub will provide:

  • A multi-agency 'duty' service for more complex problems, facilitating timely access to specialist services for those in greatest need, for example, child protection services, youth housing, health services.
  • Drop-in or arranged access to a range of activities; such as ante-natal services, parenting support, Connexions, social work.
