Introduction
The Local Authority promotes the continuous development of high quality services across early years education, play and childcare providers primarily through our own quality assurance scheme 'For One Child and All Children'. This scheme met the standards required by the national Sure Start quality mark 'Investors in Children'.
Each provider is individually valued and offered a variety of user-friendly techniques to aid their development. These usually include:
- Quality support circles
- Mentoring
- In-service training
- Workshops
- A quality assurance (QA) survival guide and a manual
- Assessment and accreditation
Currently we are reviewing a variety of quality assurance schemes to ensure that we support each sector with schemes which are up-to-date and offer a progressive range of challenges. In the meantime, our existing schemes, including 'For One Child and All Children', continue to receive our active support.
