Documents in the South Gloucestershire LDF

The following documents form the South Gloucestershire Local Development Framework (LDF). The timetables for the production of future documents are set out in the Local Development Scheme, and will also become part of the Local Development Framework once they have been adopted.

The Local Plans and Development Plan Documents (DPD) listed comprise the statutory development plan.

Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The scheme sets out the three-year programme for the preparation of Local Development Documents. The current LDS covers the period January 2011 to December 2013 .

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

The Council adopted the SCI on 21 May 2008. The adopted version of the SCI is available in the green 'Read more' box on the right of this page, together with an information note to be read in conjunction with it.

West of England Joint Waste Core Strategy DPD (JWCS)

The four West of England unitary authorities (South Gloucestershire, Bristol City, Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset Councils) adopted the JWCS on 25th March 2011. The adopted version of the JWCS is available on the West of England Partnership website, which can be accessed from the 'Other websites' link on the right of this page.

South Gloucestershire Local Plan and South Gloucestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan

The Local Plan and the Minerals and Waste Local Plan have both been 'saved' into the Local Development Framework.  8 of the policies in the Minerals and Waste Local Plan expired on 27 September 2007 with the rest continuing as 'saved' policies. Similarly 6 policies in the South Gloucestershire Local Plan expired on 6 January 2009 with the rest continuing as 'saved' policies.

On adoption of the Joint Waste Core Strategy (25th March 2011) the following policies in the South Gloucestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan were superseded and ceased to have effect - Policies 3, 36, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42 and 43.

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)

The AMR is a progress report on the Local Development Scheme and assesses the Local Plan and Minerals and Waste Local Plan against a number of performance indicators.

Proposals Map

The Proposals Map currently comprises:

  • the South Gloucestershire Local Plan Proposals Map, excluding sites of international nature conservation (Policy L6)
  • the South Gloucestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan Proposals Map, excluding the proposed landfill sites (Policies 42 & 43) 
  • the Joint Waste Core Strategy Key Diagram and Figures 1 and 12 in Appendix 1 of the JWCS (available from the 'Other websites' link on the right of this page)
