Local area forums

The council believes it is important to consider decisions at a local level and to consider local views in the decision-making process and has established five area forums.

An area forum:

  • Is comprised of ward councillors for the area
  • Is one of the means of consulting the public and reviewing the impact of council policies and services on the area
  • Provides an opportunity to involve local residents and others in the community
  • Champions local needs and aspirations
  • Provides a focus for active public participation
  • Gives feedback to the cabinet

Details of the papers for area forum meetings are available in the same way as any other public meeting.

See 'View Council agendas and reports' in the 'Do It now'  box on the right-hand side of this page for links to meeting details and forum membership.
