The Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas registration scheme on 1 April 2009 as Great Britain’s gas safety authority.
By law, only Gas Safe Registered engineers should carry out work on gas installations or appliances in your home. CORGI registration will not be valid. Engineers verified under the CORGI scheme will now need to register with GSR so they can continue to work legally.
All GSR engineers have an identity card carrying their licence number, a photo and the GSR logo. You can verify the licence number on the GSR website, www.gassaferegister.co.uk, or by calling 0800 408 5500.
