The 'What Next' work experience project

A group of young people

Recognition of the achievement and success of young people

Young people from South Gloucestershire have once again demonstrated their abilities and achievements in the work place, by successfully completing work experience placements organised by the What Next Project. A group of young people from the project organised an award evening at the Holiday Inn at Hambrook to celebrate this success with the presentation of the nationally recognised South Gloucestershire Award for Young People to all those young people who have taken part in the scheme in 2008. The valuable support given to the work experience by employers was marked by the presentation to these employers of certificates of recognition and thanks.
Holly gave a personal account of her work experience as an introduction to the event, which was followed by the presentation of the certificates by Sheila Cook, the Executive Member for Children and Young People on South Gloucestershire Council.
The music for the evening was selected and organised by Jamie, Dion and George.
