The OSGARS celebration of achievement event for looked-after children and young people has been held each year since 2001. The aim is to celebrate the achievements of these children and young people in areas such as education, sports and personal development and to boost their self-esteem and confidence.

At the event each child and young person receives a certificate, gift voucher and photograph of themselves from the celebrity hosting the event. Up to 280 people have attended each of these events, including looked-after children and young people, their parents and carers, senior managers from the council and councillors. Local businesses have been very generous in sponsoring the OSGARS.
