Over 600 young people attended the festival from 65 primary & special schools. The children’s behaviour was fantastic they were a credit to South Gloucestershire and their schools.

As a UK School Games ambassador, Olympic sprint star Jason Gardener MBE made the presentations and gave advice to the young athletes.

Great Britain’s Basketball hero Jo Sarjant was also there to help as an ambassador for Sporting Champions.

All children taking part received a free medal & tee shirt as this was a celebration of the new skills they had learned through the festival coaching programme.

But just for the record:

“I thought the day was a great success and the children, parents and teachers all seemed to be having great fun.

Sporting opportunities put on as well as this, along with high class events such as UK School Games coming to the area, I have know doubt will provide great inspiration for young people to continue to enjoy sport.”

Many thanks to all those who helped to make Saturday such a success whether organising a team or acting as an official or a volunteer and in particular many thanks must go to Joanne Iles the festival co-ordinator.

Our thanks must also go to our Sponsors Airbus, without whom, a festival of this scale would just not be possible.
