Hungarian goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2lb 5oz) Beef (cut into strips)
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • Half teaspoon (heaped) of paprika
  • Half teaspoon of garlic (approximately)
  • 2 beef stock cubes
  • Cornflour (to thicken if required)

 

Method

  • Fry together beef strips and onion until browned
  • Add paprika and garlic
  • Dissolve stock cubes into about 1 litre of hot water and pour onto meat mixture
  • Simmer for approximately 2-3 hours
  • Thicken with cornflour if required after cooking time
  • Serve with yellow rice
