Directions

Thornbury Library is situated at the upper end of the pedestrianised shopping precinct. It is next door to a signposted, short-stay car park which provides disabled parking facilities (by the Wheatsheaf pub and opposite the police station).

Monday: 9.30am - 5.30pm
Tuesday: 9.30am - 5.30pm
Wednesday: 9.30am - 7.00pm
Thursday: closed
Friday: 9.30am - 7.00pm
Saturday: 9.30am - 5.00pm
Sunday: closed

During holiday periods (Easter, Bank Holidays and Christmas) opening times will vary. For details, please see 'Library opening times' under 'More in this topic' on the right of this page.

Facilities

For a list of facilities at the library have a look at the page  'Facilities at libraries'. Thornbury Library also provides a laminating service, a Kurzweil Reading Machine for the visually impaired and has microfilm and microfiche facilities, including the Thornbury Gazette on microfilm (1955- date).

• Pre-school storytime: Mondays 2.15pm - 2.45pm, term-time only, except for last Monday in the month
• Rhyme Time: last Monday of every month, 2.15pm - 2.45pm, term time only
• Children's holiday activities - details on request
• Pensions surgery: Fridays 10.00am – 12.00 noon
• Thornbury Savings Club (Credit Union): every Saturday 10.00am - 12.00noon
• Computer lessons available for the over 50's every Tuesday in partnership with Age Concern
