Throughout September people are being encouraged to beat the jams by entering Jam Busting - a month-long competition to find alternatives ways of travelling to work.
Register online at www.jambusting.com and start competing alongside other people from the West of England region who are trying out alternative ways of getting to work other than a single occupancy car.
Walking, cycling, using public transport, car sharing, and home working all count towards Jam Busting, which is a joint council-run initiative now in its sixth year.
All you have to do is keep an online diary which records how you travel to and from work and at the end of the month there will be a prize draw for those who have taken part. Prizes include gym membership, a £100 Amazon voucher and two open return train tickets to London which have been donated by local businesses.
Last year more than 3,000 people took part in this competition, saving one million single occupancy car miles and almost 20 per cent of participants swapped the car for another form of transport.
Jam Busting is primarily an internet-based promotion, people without internet access should call 01934 426 240 for further details.
So log onto www.jambusting.com do your bit and win some great prizes!
