Community composting sites are run by volunteers and backed up by Resource Futures and the council. If you live locally to a community composting site, you may use it as a disposal point for compostable garden waste.
The sites produce a good quality compost which you can take away for a small donation. By making a donation you support the volunteers and by using the compost you are on the road to sustainable gardening.
Locations
- Thornbury, at the back of the leisure centre car park
- Yate, at Shireways Community Centre, Shire Way
- Patchway, allotments off Newnham Place
- Hawksbury Upton, off the High Street
The sites are open all hours but please be mindful of the neighbours and your own safety if visiting after dark. We hope to have an additional site at Warmley Forest Park this year.
