Good eating advice

To encourage good eating, we suggest the following:

Eat more fish

Try to eat at least two portions of fish per week.
Choose an oily fish - these are good sources of Omega 3s -
pilchards, mackerel, fresh tuna and salmon are good choices.

Less Fat

Check food labels when shopping and choose reduced fat items - getting into the habit of checking purchases builds good practice. Remember - every little helps!

Eat more fruit and vegetables

'5 a day! Try snacking on vegetables and fruits instead of biscuits and crisps etc.
Make a star chart with your child – make it fun – are you hitting the mark?

Eating environment

Look at the way you eat, where you eat? Try to relax, sit down, eat together, try new foods, treat your taste buds!

Exercise every day

Try walking to school – leave the car behind!
It aids your digestive system and helps the environment.
