The Landscape Consultancy is a team of landscape architects and designers, providing a professional and friendly landscape design and management service to clients in South Gloucestershire. Projects

Avon Ring Road Stage II
The Landscape Consultancy provided landscape design to create a variety of habitats along the road and associated footpath and cycle route of the A4174 Ring Road. The team administered the 5 year maintenance contract and provided advice on the environmental implications of design and construction.

Kingswood Town Centre
The Landscape Consultancy team was commissioned in the enhancement of Kingswood Town Centre, a scheme to improve the pedestrian environment (including visual qualities and safety) and improve cycle and bus facilities. The Landscape team successfully implemented the ‘made in Kingswood’ furniture scheme, secured funding for public art projects and for the production of footway paving features and seating.

The Clocktower, Warmley
The Landscape Consultancy was appointed to assist in the planning, design and implementation of landscape proposals associated with the renovation/restoration of Warmley Clocktower, a project to improve boundary features, improve lighting and security and provide paving incorporating historic features at one of the last surviving industrial buildings from William Champion’s Brassworks. As the project evolved the Landscape Consultancy took on a Project Management role, appointing consultants and dealing with planning consents.

Siston Attenuation Pond
As part of advanced engineering works for the final phase of the Avon Ring Road, the Landscape Consultancy provided ecological and landscape design advice for an attractive local amenity pond that also fulfilled drainage requirements for the road. The Landscape Consultancy created framed views across the sloping fields, provided native woodland and shrub planting, and designed a scheme to lift and relay existing species rich grassland to create a valuable wildlife habitat.

Kingsgate Park
The Landscape Consultancy was involved in a major project to extend the existing play area at Kingsgate Park, Yate, with a scheme involving existing mature trees. The team undertook extensive community consultation involving Councillors, the Friends Group and children at local junior and senior schools. The Landscape team supervised the contract and ran workshops throughout, including willow weaving and totem pole carving.

Tyndale
The Landscape Consultancy was commissioned to develop masterplan proposals for the enhancement of a run-down park in Yate. The scheme provided enhanced play facilities, improved access to and through the park, encouraged increased use of the park by a range of users and improved the visual quality and habitat values through improved planting.

School Grounds Development and Design
The Landscape Consultancy is a member of Learning Through Landscapes, a nationwide charitable organisation dedicated to ensuring that children “enjoy the opportunities and experiences that well planned school grounds can offer”. The Landscape Consultancy has worked throughout South Gloucestershire providing a range of services to schools including workshops to encourage children’s involvement in their school grounds, cost effective landscape design to maximise education, social and recreational value and master planning of school grounds.
