Grimsbury Farm news

Volunteers planting around the new pond at Grimsbury Farm

Farm improvements

  • The Friends Group are consulting on the redesign and refurbishment of the children's play area hopefully to be done this year.
  • Future plans for the farm include turning one of the outbuildings into a cafe with views across the new pond.
  • We have extended the footpaths so that you can now walk around much more of the farm. There’s a short circular walk which takes you past the pygmy goats, under some apple trees alongside Baden Road and through a kissing gate out into the car park and there’s also a tarmac path suitable for wheelchairs which now joins the farm with the new Kingswood Remembrance Park.
  • The outside of the farmhouse has just been smartened up and an old dovecote uncovered at the back of the house. Work will continue to upgrade the building to provide better community facilities.
  • A Gloucester Old Spot sow came to the farm with her seven piglets earlier in 2009. They have proved very popular and we hope to breed more pigs soon.
