The first two showcase corridors in South Gloucestershire from Cribbs Causeway to Bristol via Bradley Stoke and Filton to Emersons Green have been officially launched.
This is the second corridor launch – the Weston-super-Mare to Bristol corridor, the first of the 10 new showcase corridors, was launched in March this year.
Improvements along these two new corridors include:
- Over 70 improved bus stops with new shelters and raised kerbs
- 35 bus stops at key locations with real time information that tells you when the bus is due
- Six new bus lanes to improve reliability
- Two new priority vehicle lanes for buses, car sharers, taxis, motorcyclists and heavy good vehicles to improve reliability and congestion
- Changes to five junctions so the traffic lights go green when a bus approaches
- 19 new buses dedicated to these routes
