The new library in Broad Street provides a major community facility in the heart of the community. In addition to more space for library books it provides greater access to computers and a meeting room for use by community groups. The library service has also introduced the latest state of the art technology to ensure local people are provided with the best possible service.

Special events
- Activities for older children in the school holidays
- Pre-school storytime for under-5s every Friday during term-time 11.00am - 11.30am
- Chatterbooks - a reading club for children aged 7+ one Saturday a month from 11.00am -12 noon
- Rhyme Time for pre-school children - every Thursday during term time 11.00am - 11.30am
- Tuesday Reading Group - one Tuesday a month 6pm - 7pm. Please ask a member of staff for more details.
