South Gloucestershire Council delivers 'Bikeability' cycle training which is carried out by nationally accredited qualified trainers.
Cycle training is offered free through schools at their request. School holiday courses are offered free of charge to pupils unable to receive training at school.
There are 3 levels of training:
- Level 1B for Year 3 and Year 4, which takes place in the playground
- Level 2 for Year 5 and Year 6 which takes place on the road
- Level 3 for Year 7 and above, which takes place on more challenging roads and pupils' routes to school
