Historic Environment

Thornbury Castle

The Historic Environment Service provides information and advice on the built environment. As well as archaeology, we deal with listed buildings, conservation areas and historic parks, gardens and landscapes.

Check out the museums and heritage pages - there are historic houses and gardens, country parks, community museums, industrial heritage centres and even mines which are open to the public and would welcome your visit.
