Countryside and nature

Field and flowers

The council encourages everyone living and working here to enjoy the natural environment. For example, the Wildspaces Partnership Project is very active at local nature reserves. These are special places, often close to people's homes, rich in wildlife and providing the perfect space to relax, enjoy and get closer to nature. Biodiversity projects - to protect our special wildlife and natural heritage, are also running and you can find out more about them in this section.

The council works closely with a wide range of professionals and the community providing expert advice and practical management of the countryside and nature conservation sites - delivering environmental benefits to the whole community.

If you want to get involved, share information or discuss environmental and countryside issues then why not join an environmental link group – everyone is welcome to attend.
