Waste services in South Gloucestershire are provided by the Sort It!* partnership between the council and Sita South Gloucestershire. We provide Sort It!* services to reduce waste, increase re-use and recycling and protect our environment. Sort It!* services include:
- Kerbside collections of household rubbish
- Kerbside collections of garden waste and cardboard
- Kerbside collections of recycling
- Sort It!* centres where you can take your household waste, recycling, composting and hazardous waste (such as chemicals)
These services have been extremely successful. In 2000, before we introduced them, South Gloucestershire recycled just six per cent of its waste. In 2005, this figure was 40 per cent.
